Job Title: CNC MACHINE OPERATOR I, 1st Shift

Reports To: MACHINE SHOP SUPERVISOR

Location: CORPORATE

Department: MACHINING OPERATIONS

Yearly: $46,217 to $60,113

Monday to Friday, 6 am to 2:30 pm

SUMMARY

Properly operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery. Accurately and in a timely fashion measures all manufactured parts according to blueprint specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reads and interprets blueprints and/or diagrams.
  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of tasks.
  • Works under general supervision.
  • Must report any problem to the lead/supervisor in a timely manner.

Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

• Knowledge of precision measuring tools.

• High school graduate or equivalent.

• Must have 0 to 2 years of experience with CNC machining.

• Operate CNC production machines, primarily mills and lathes.

• Follow documented processes using best and safe practices.

• Must know how to read blueprints.

• Must have knowledge of machining principles.

• Familiar with quality paperwork.

• Understand ISO and QS processes. Know how to determine Quality requirements and document quality.

• Maintain a high degree of quality.

• Willingness to cross train and share knowledge and skills with others.

• Maintain required and accurate paperwork.

• Housekeeping/maintenance of work area and machinery.

• Identify and initiate product and process improvements.

• Safety- and goal-oriented.

• Perform in a team environment.

• Basic math skills.
