Job Description

Manufacture customized granite, marble, Corian, and engineered stone countertops and related products that meet customer specifications.

Primary Tasks & Responsibilities

• Examine specifications of the customer’s order using drawings, work orders, or blueprints to determine the characteristics of the finished item, materials to be used, and machine setup requirements.
• Fabricate workpieces as determined by work order specifications. Retrieve correct materials and perform various fabrication duties.
• Visually examine workpieces, by touch, or using tape measure, calipers, or gauges to ensure the product meets desired standards.
• Operate machinery—maintain machinery to standards, set points, programming, adjust for various product types, and conduct preventative maintenance.
• Maintain the condition of the work area (e.g., free of trash, correct placement of products).
• Follow company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Select correct processes from prescribed rules, past practices, or instructions. Seek advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor. Deviations from the norm are cleared by the supervisor.
• Conduct detailed quality and procedural checks with a senior co-worker and/or supervisor.

Work Environment

• Requires intermittent physical exertion such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering materials or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
• Typically in a comfortable environment but with exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, noise, dust, wet work areas, and fumes associated with countertop manufacturing.

Education & Experience

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must pass drug test, background check, and pre-employment tests if applicable.
• HS Diploma or GED required. 0-2 years of experience in the area of responsibility.
• Experience with countertop fabrication equipment or machinery is a plus, including Waterjet Saw, Edge Polishers, CNCs, and hand tools.
• Countertop experience preferred.
• Desire to work with hands to produce quality products in a team environment.
• Experience with granite and solid surface materials like Corian is preferred.
