CNC Machine Operator Overview

Join our team as a CNC Machine Operator and unleash your skills in fabricating precision parts that shape our world! As you tend to the cutting, shaping, and bending of structural plates, you’ll play a pivotal role in our operations. This role isn’t just about machinery—it’s safety-sensitive, highlighting the critical importance of your work in safeguarding the well‑being of our team and the public. Your attention to detail and expertise will ensure top-quality production while prioritizing safety at every turn.

CNC Machine Operator Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Program CNC machine to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. These CNC Machines include Burn Table, Angle/Beam Line, Wheel‑a‑brator, and Coper.
  • Load CAD‑drawn CNC programs with job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
  • Observe machine operation to detect defects or machine malfunction.
  • Load and unload structural steel from machine with overhead crane.
  • Remove burrs from parts. Clear scrap shavings and debris from machine when required.
  • Package parts for delivery or pick up.
  • Work overtime and maintain regular, punctual attendance.
CNC Machine Operator Qualifications
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three months’ related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and understand detailed shop drawings.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions.
  • Good oral/written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
CNC Machine Operator Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift and/or move 50 lbs. frequently.
  • Considerable amounts of standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles.
  • Exposed to temperature fluctuations and a noisy work environment.
