Job description

Machine Operator- Evening Shift
A machine operator must be reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. You will need to have a willingness to learn and improve. Being a team player is essential as this position requires collaboration with co-workers.


Essential Job Functions:

  1. Set up machines (calibration, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle
  2. Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
  3. Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
  4. Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
  5. Test operation of machines periodically
  6. Fix issues that might occur during the shift
  7. Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
  8. Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
  9. Maintain activity logs
  10. Use machine equipment to complete tasks
  11. Perform routine inspections of manufacturing equipment
  12. Evaluate the efficiency of each unit regularly, identifying improvements as needed


Requirements:

  1. Ability to proactively troubleshoot problems
  2. Work as a team within the department and with other departments and Leads
  3. Proven experience as a machine operator
  4. Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement
  5. Adherence to health and safety regulations
  6. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
  7. Analytical skills and attention to detail
  8. Ability to work scheduled hours and comply with the company's timekeeping policy and all other company policies


Required Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted. Physical capability to properly handle tooling and safely set up large pieces; including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning products. Must be able to stand, sit, and bend for long periods of time.


Work Environment:
Manufacturing environment: loud noise levels, high temperatures, dirt, and sand.
Required PPE: steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, dust masks, and/or respirators.
