Job summary

Momentum Manufacturing Group in Lyndon, VT, is seeking a skilled CNC Machine Operator to produce precision metal parts from aluminum, steel, brass, and copper using CNC mills, lathes, and related equipment.

You will review blueprints, write and apply machine tool math, set up controls, adjust speeds, and check tolerances with inspection tools, while maintaining a clean, safe Lean environment and following ISO procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Standing and walking 100% of the time; lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to use hand and power tools safely.
• Clear close vision for inspecting machined parts.
• Must work as a team player and in a safe manner.

Responsibilities

• Review blueprints and specifications for CNC jobs.
• Write CNC programs and apply machine tool math.
• Monitor feed rate and spindle speed during operation.
• Set up controls and perform cuts to make machined parts.
• Maintain machine conditions and perform basic preventive maintenance.
• Use inspection tools to verify tolerances and QC procedures.
• Follow ISO procedures and Lean practices in a safe environment.
• Adhere to Team Leader instructions and company rules.

Job description

CNC Machine Operator

MMG machine operators produce a variety of precision metal parts primarily from aluminum, steel, brass, and copper, using computer numerically-controlled (CNC) machine tools such as vertical and horizontal milling machines as well as conventional, multi-op, and Swiss style lathes.

2nd shift differential.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Key Responsibilities

• Review blueprints and/or written specifications for a job
• Write programs and apply machine tool math
• Understand and monitor the feed rate and speed of machine
• Set‑up controls and make the cuts to make machined parts
• Ensure machine is working properly through standard preventative maintenance procedures and to make certain machine is properly feeding, cutting, cooling and lubricating part while in operation
• Utilize specialized inspection tools to check tolerances
• Understand and maintain QC procedures
• Work within a visual Lean Manufacturing Environment/System; maintain as clean and safe work environment
• Understand and follow all ISO procedures
• Must follow procedures and execute tasks assigned by Team Leader
• Must comply with ALL Company code of conduct, safety and procedural rules and regulations
