Responsibilities:
- Set up the CNC machine according to established procedures to drill and mill required material and/or parts out of aluminum, stainless steel, Kapton, titanium, brass, copper, etc.
- Utilize a lit or a drawing to verify that the machined parts conform to specifications.
- Monitor the coolant levels and maintain CNC tooling.
- Perform QC on first articles and on in-process parts.
- Use micrometers and calipers to measure parts.
- Get along well with others.
- Work scheduled shift and meet company attendance requirements; be flexible enough to stay late or modify work hours on short notice, if production deadlines require it.
- Perform the job safely; comply with company safety rules and procedures.
- Follow the lean philosophy and practice the 5 S’s on a daily basis.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:
- Good verbal and written English communication skills; ability to work from written and verbal instructions.
- Neat penmanship for completing Manufacturing Plans, inventory logs, etc.
- Familiarity with the use of inspection hand tools (micrometer, caliper).
- High school diploma or GED preferred; prefer one year experience as a machine operator.
- Detail-oriented and able to multi-task several functions.
- Ability to organize work to optimize efficiency.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations to cut materials to spec.
- Manual dexterity to enter information into the machine and to handle parts, etc.
- Correctable vision and hearing.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend waist and neck, squat, twist neck and waist, use hands to grasp, manipulate, push, pull and reach, and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to maneuver successfully through a 33,000 square foot, ground level, single-story manufacturing facility.
