Job summary

HermanMiller in Michigan is seeking candidates for an Apprentice Tool/Fixture maker program. Trainees will work under Journeyman Tool/Fixture makers and complete a 4-5 year program, including 500-600 hours of classroom instruction.

You will learn to operate and program CNC machines, build fixtures, read blueprints, and communicate changes to engineering. A high school diploma and a valid driver's license are required; forklift certification is also required.

Qualifications

• Must obtain forklift license.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to learn.

Responsibilities

• Learn to perform all duties required for the Journeyman Tool/Fixture maker.
• Operate and program CNC machines and make parts from prints or Cad/Cam software.
• Develop, build, and install modifications to production machines; make prototype machines and fixtures.
• Document modifications or changes to designs and communicate changes to engineering.
• Work flexible hours and overtime to meet customer requirements.
