Job summary

RMS Inc. in Pearland, TX seeks an Associate CNC Lathe/VTL Machinist to join our team. You will perform finishing machining including turning, boring, drilling and threading with close tolerances, using Fanuc controls and reading drawings.

Candidates should be able to read G-code, use micrometers and calipers, stand most of the shift, and lift up to 50 lbs. This full-time role offers competitive pay and benefits in a metalworking environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a safety sensitive environment.
• Ethical conduct and integrity.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Resourceful and proactive in issue resolution.
• Ability to read drawings and use calibrated measuring tools.
• Read drawings and use micrometers.
• Basic machining knowledge and practices.
• Manufacturing industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Stand in shop environment for 8 hours per day.
• Operate lifts, pallet jacks and other equipment (training provided).
• Communicate effectively in writing and orally.
• Apply advanced math to tolerances and dimensions.
• Read blueprints and G-code to produce parts.
• Practice basic turning, milling, drilling and threading operations.
• Read drawings and follow instructions to produce quality parts.
• Maintain and calibrate measuring devices (micrometers, calipers, indicators).
• Provide own basic tools for the position.
• Adhere to safety directives and customer requirements.
