Job description

Bull Moose Tube Company is seeking to hire a full-time CNC Lathe Programmer/Operator in our Chicago Heights, IL location. *Must have schedule flexibility.

SUMMARY: Use a CNC lathe to maintain tooling for both Mills. Use the Shop Floor program to print out mill schedules. Enter requisitions for capital tooling and maintain tooling set-up charts for both mills. Archive tooling drawings. Use micrometers to measure tooling dimensions. Use a forklift and chain hoist to transport Turk's heads to the mills.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintain cutoff dies, install new jaws for each mill changeover
  2. Sort cutoff blades and cutoff jaws for regrinding
  3. Operate a CNC lathe, Fanuc panel (G-code) to polish and regrind rolls
  4. Operate forklift and chain hoist
  5. Replace bearings on all idler rolls
  6. Prepare tooling set-up carts for each mill changeover
  7. Maintain, breakdown, and reset dead targets, flash rod assemblies, Turk's head clevises, spacers and weld roll clevises

OTHER ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Maintain regular and reliable attendance
  2. Work cooperatively with others to ensure constructive and productive business relationships
  3. Comply with all Company policies and procedures
  4. Understand and effectively use computerized system

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Ability to lift 50 pounds
  2. Ability to operate a forklift
  3. Computer literate
  4. Work well in a team-based environment

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Associate degree or completion of an apprenticeship program in machining and CNC or 2 years of relevant experience
  2. Strong verbal and math skills (converting fractions and decimals)
  3. Strong shop math skills
  4. Ability to read tooling drawings and enter roll dimensions in Fanuc control panel
  5. Able to work overtime and/or various shifts
  6. Able to work in an environment without climate control
