Job summary

Legacy Machining is a growing, family-owned precision machining company seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer/Setup Technician to join our team.

This position is focused on programming, setup, and process improvement for our CNC turning operations. While your primary responsibility will be programming and setting up jobs, we’re looking for someone who wants to grow with the company and may train others or step into a leadership role for the right individual.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years CNC lathe programming and setup experience preferred.
  • Strong CAD/CAM experience required.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T.
  • Experience selecting tooling and optimizing machining processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Creative thinker with a drive to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and optimize CNC lathes for production.
  • Create and modify CAD/CAM files and manufacturing drawings.
  • Select tooling and develop efficient machining processes.
  • Optimize cycle times while maintaining quality.
  • Troubleshoot machining and quality issues.
  • Perform first-piece inspections and ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
  • Assist with training operators as the department grows.

Legacy Machining is a growing, family-owned precision machining company seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer/Setup Technician to join our team.

This position is focused on programming, setup, and process improvement for our CNC turning operations. While your primary responsibility will be programming and setting up jobs, we\'re looking for someone who wants to grow with the company. As we continue to expand, there may be opportunities to train other machinists and step into a supervisory or leadership role for the right individual.
