CNC Multi-Axis Machinist / Setup Operator — Lathe or Mill

J&R Machine Works is a fast-paced precision CNC machining company serving the aerospace industry. We are seeking experienced CNC Multi-Axis Machinists and Setup Operators with a proven track record in high-tolerance aerospace manufacturing.

This is not an entry-level position. All candidates will be required to complete an on-site skills assessment, including hands‑on inspection of precision features to tolerances as tight as ±.0002".

Required Skills

• Proficient in the use of a full range of precision inspection equipment, including micrometers, height gages, bore gages, thread gages, and indicators
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, including parts with 100+ features and tolerances as tight as ±.0001"
• Ability to independently set and adjust tool offsets as required
• Ability to load, run, and troubleshoot CNC programs
• Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to work from drawings, sketches, and written or verbal instructions
• Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and 5S‑compliant work area
• Must be punctual, reliable, and able to work professionally in a regulated aerospace environment
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment
• Setup experience strongly preferred

Compensation

• $20.00 – $40.00 per hour, commensurate with verified skills and experience
