Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a CNC Lathe Operator to safely run and maintain CNC lathes in a climate-controlled shop and outdoor yard. You will edit programs with G-code, set machine parameters, read blueprints, and work with cranes, band saws, and power tools to keep production flowing.

The role requires about 2 years of machining experience, strong math skills, and the ability to pass safety and maintenance training. A 2nd shift schedule runs 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Must be able to edit CNC programs directly on the machine (G-code).
• Experience operating CNC lathes and interpreting blueprints.
• Strong computer skills to enter/adjust parameters on CNC controls.
• Ability to pass safety and CNC lathe training courses and basic maintenance certifications.
• Approximately 2 years of related CNC or machining experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathes safely in shop and outdoor yard.
• Perform machine edits and program adjustments using G-code.
• Enter and adjust machine parameters with CNC controls.
• Interpret blueprints to set up and run jobs.
• Use overhead/jib cranes, forklifts to move materials as required.
• Operate band saws, hand tools, and power tools to support machining.
• Perform basic maintenance on CNC lathes as trained.
• Follow safety procedures and complete training courses.
• Work independently or as a team to complete jobs on schedule.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area in shop and yard.
• Monitor equipment and report issues promptly.
• Adapt to working around moving equipment and in noisy/dusty environments.
