Overview

Job Title: CNC Lathe Machinist
Location: Hastings, MN
Schedule: 1st Shift Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM
Position Type: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $83,000.00 - $104,000.00 per year

Requirements and Qualifications
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T specifications, and technical drawings.
    • Strong knowledge of cutting tools, materials, and tooling geometry.
    • Expertise in using precision measurement tools.
    • Familiarity with CNC controls such as Fanuc and Haas.
  3. Soft Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
    • Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  4. Preferred Qualifications (Optional):
    • Experience with G‑Code and M‑Code programming or CAM software.
    • Experience with multi‑axis or live tooling lathe machines.
Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Setup and Program:
    • Set up and operate CNC lathes (loading programs, selecting tooling, adjusting offsets, fixture setup).
    • Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machining operations, sequences, and dimensional specifications.
    • Perform machine start‑up and shut‑down procedures.
    • Lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.
    • Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks.
  2. Part Production and Quality:
    • Machine parts to required specifications and within tight tolerances.
    • Monitor the machine during operation, adjusting feed rates, cutting speeds, and depth of cut as needed.
    • Perform in‑process inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure parts meet quality standards.
    • Identify and troubleshoot any machine malfunctions or quality issues that arise during machining.
  3. Maintenance and Safety:
    • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on CNC lathes for optimal performance and longevity.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety regulations and procedures.
    • Replace worn tools and inserts as necessary.
  4. Program and Documentation:
    • Make adjustments to existing CNC programs (offsets, minor edits) at the machine control.
    • Accurately complete all necessary production documentation, logs, and reports.
