CNC Lathe Machinist – High‑Precision Aerospace & Medical Work

Join a world‑class, climate‑controlled precision machining facility where you’ll run advanced CNC lathes, work with exotic materials, and produce tight‑tolerance components for aerospace and medical applications. This 2nd‑shift role is ideal for a machinist who thrives on a complex set‑ups, multi‑axis work, and solving challenging machining problems.

What You’ll Do

• Perform full CNC lathe set‑ups on new and repeat jobs in a precision job‑shop environment

• Set up and operate advanced CNC lathes including twin‑turret and dual‑spindle machines

• Troubleshoot machining issues during set‑up and production to maintain accuracy and uptime

• Read and interpret complex blueprints for high‑precision aerospace and medical components

• Hold tight tolerances of +/‑ 0.0002 on parts ranging from large components to pieces as small as a fingernail

• Work with exotic materials including stainless, aluminum, Inconel, titanium, brass, and specialty alloys

• Edit CNC programs at the machine to optimize cycle times, tool life, and part quality

• Use live tooling and multi‑axis capabilities to complete complex machining operations

• Complete 1+ set‑ups per shift depending on job complexity and run length

• Run production quantities ranging from small lots of ~100 parts to larger runs up to ~5,000

• Select and pre‑set tooling for exotic metals and complex part geometries

• Collaborate in a clean job‑shop environment with a supportive, cross‑trained team

Essential Skills

• 3+ years CNC lathe set‑up experience in a job‑shop or production environment

• 2+ years aerospace/medical machining holding tolerances of +/‑ 0.0002

• Experience with twin‑turret and dual‑spindle lathes

• Blueprint and technical drawing mastery

• Program editing at the machine

• Comfort machining very small parts

• Tooling knowledge for exotic metals

• Experience with Fanuc controls

• Familiarity with Puma, Daewoo, and Doosan lathes

Preferred Qualifications

• Live tooling or multi‑axis lathe experience

• Aerospace or medical machining experience

• Advanced tooling knowledge for titanium, Inconel, and other exotic alloys

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $83200.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
