Job description

Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machine Operator to join our precision manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating CNC lathes to produce high-quality turned parts according to engineering specifications. You will be expected to follow detailed instructions, inspect finished parts, and contribute to a safe and efficient shop environment.

Shift 2: 2-10:30pm

Compensation: $23.00/hour to $26.00/hour (depending on experience) + $1.00 Differential

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC lathe machines to manufacture components to precise specifications.
  • Load raw materials and monitor the turning process to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
  • Measure and inspect machined parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Make necessary adjustments to offsets, tooling, and speeds/feeds to maintain tolerances.
  • Change tools and inserts as needed during the production run.
  • Record production data and complete quality assurance documentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and company policies.
Skills / Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED is a plus; vocational or technical training preferred.
  • 2–3 years of experience operating CNC lathe machines.
  • Strong ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proficient with measurement instruments and basic math.
  • Knowledge of G-code and M-code fundamentals is a plus.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot minor machining issues.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality, and efficiency.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts as needed.

Work Environment:

  • Regular standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Use of hands and manual dexterity for precise machining and tool work.
  • Exposure to loud noises, coolant, sharp tools, and metal shavings.
  • Mandatory use of PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection).
  • Fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a focus on safety and quality.
