Job summary

Engineering Resource Group seeks a CNC Laser / Punch Press Programmer to support precision sheet metal fabrication in a regulated manufacturing environment. You will develop and optimize CNC programs for laser cutting and turret punch press equipment, drive tooling improvements, and ensure documentation aligns with change controls.

The role requires minimum 2 years of hands-on CNC programming, experience with OEM CAD/CAM nesting software, and familiarity with GMP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience.
• Minimum 2 years hands-on CNC programming experience for laser cutting and/or turret punch press equipment.
• Demonstrated process improvement experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with OEM laser/punch CAD/CAM programming and nesting software.
• Experience setting up and operating laser and punch press jobs, including tooling selection by material and process.
• Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment with working knowledge of GMP.
• Proficient in GD&T, blueprint interpretation and precision measuring instruments; knowledge of sampling and inspection plans.
• Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Medical device manufacturing experience with ISO 13485 a plus.
• Supervisory experience (personnel, training, scheduling) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, prove out and optimize CNC programs for laser cutting and turret punch press equipment.
• Drive continuous improvement of programs, tooling and processes to increase run rate, quality and efficiency.
• Review ECNs and revise programs and setup documentation per internal change control procedures.
• Create setup sheets, run instructions and maintenance documentation for department equipment.
• Select and apply tooling for specific materials and processes; support design of new tooling.
• Coordinate scheduling and staging of work orders at the machines and provide job data to operators.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs with the maintenance department.
• Set up and run laser and punch press jobs as backup to operators when needed.
• Support evaluation, quoting and validation of new fabrication equipment and technology.
