Job summary

Falcon Steel Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Laser Operator for the 2nd shift to transform raw steel sheets into precision-cut parts using CNC fiber or CO2 laser systems. You will troubleshoot cuts, optimize nesting to reduce waste, and uphold high quality in a fast-paced shop.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of CNC laser experience, blueprints/DXF/DWG literacy, and comfortable use of nesting software; physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience operating CNC Laser or Plasma cutting machines (Amada, Bystronic, Mazak, or similar).
• Ability to read and interpret industrial blueprints and DXF/DWG files.
• Comfortable using CNC controllers and basic nesting software; navigate digital job folders.
• Expertise in using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, and squares).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for 10-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Load programs and operate CNC laser cutting machines to process carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
• Material Management: Select correct material gauges and types; use cranes or forklifts to load sheets.
• Technical Tuning: Adjust gas pressure, nozzle focus, and cutting speed for clean cuts.
• Nesting & Efficiency: Monitor nesting software for max material utilization and minimal scrap.
• Quality Assurance: Inspect parts for dross and verify dimensions against CAD.
• Nozzle Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance including nozzle cleaning and lens inspections.
