Job description

CNC Layout/Laser Sheet Metal Processing Operator

Job Description:
  • Layout plates for various product lines, including sheets, angles, channels, or bar stock for structural assembly.
  • Set up, regulate, and operate CNC Laser machines to cut a wide variety of shapes and sizes for both standard and non-standard products made from ferrous metals.
  • Operate all types of sheet metal equipment, including Laser, brake press, and wall press foaming machines, according to specifications.
  • Configure machines with the appropriate dies and angles, including special extruding jigs, as per specifications.
  • Construct complex products such as transition pieces and elbows from ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys.
  • Perform daily and weekly preventive maintenance on Laser, Press Brake, and Panel Foam Press equipment.
  • Program machines for special cuts not handled by DNC systems.
  • Layout and position cuts to optimize material usage.
  • Ensure correct hole dimensions, contours, and allowances for bending and forming.
  • Create templates and sketches for standard, non-standard, and experimental products from drawings or sketches.
  • Read and interpret piece part drawings independently.
  • Measure, inspect, and adjust parts to meet drawing specifications.
  • Use various hand tools associated with machine operation.
  • Identify and report unusual conditions or material defects.
  • Handle materials safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain and record labor, production, quality, and quantity data accurately.
  • Keep the work area and equipment clean and safe, adhering to 5S standards.
  • Participate in team activities such as Kaizen events, 5S programs, and problem-solving exercises as needed.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and JHRA guidelines.
