Job summary

IKG in Houston is seeking a reliable Laser Operator to load materials, run production on the Bystronic fiber laser, inspect parts and maintain a safe, efficient workspace.

You will read work orders and drawings, coordinate with the Production Supervisor to schedule work, and perform routine machine maintenance. Candidates should have mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while following all safety policies.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment.
• Forklift experience or the ability to become forklift certified.
• Ability to read work orders, drawings, and production documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with supervisors and maintenance personnel.
• Ability to safely lift materials in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Bystronic BySmart Fiber 4020 laser cutting machine.
• Upload and verify programs for production runs.
• Coordinate with the Production Supervisor to prioritize and schedule work.
• Load raw material and unload finished parts using a forklift.
• Inspect parts for quality and ensure they meet production requirements.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, including cleaning the machine and related components.
• Replace worn slats and assist with equipment upkeep.
• Monitor machine performance and coordinate with maintenance to resolve issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all safety policies and standard operating procedures.
• Assist with other production duties as assigned.
