Job summary

Northern Manufacturing Co. is seeking a qualified Laser Operator to join our team on second shift. Set up, program, and operate CNC flat and tube lasers to cut and fabricate parts, ensuring quality and on-time production.

The role involves routine maintenance, part inspection, and troubleshooting with the supervisor. You will handle material at the workstation, load/unload the machine, and work in a safe, organized shop environment on a 45-hour workweek from 3:30pm to 1:00am.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year experience as CNC operator or strong mechanical aptitude.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Detail-oriented with high-quality standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Northern Manufacturing is a custom metal fabrication company located in Oak Harbor, Ohio. We manufacture complex, custom-fabricated products for customers across a variety of industries. Northern Manufacturing is seeking a qualified Laser Operator to join our team on second shift.
Second Shift hours are 3:30pm to 1:00am for a 45-hour workweek.

What You'll Do

• Set-up, program, and operate CNC flat and tube lasers to cut and fabricate parts.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and any trouble shooting required.
• Inspect parts for inaccuracies or complications and discuss any issues with supervisor.
• Responsible for handling material at workstation and loading and unloading material from the machine.
• Maintain a solid understanding of different material types and thicknesses.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
• Assist with other tasks throughout the shop including break out, operating a forklift, etc.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
