Job summary

Schuff Steel Co. is seeking an experienced Heavy Machine Operator (A) for our Phoenix shop. You will read blueprints and operate CNC machines including Plasma Arc and NC Punch Plasma, Beam Line, and NC Angle Master, with overhead cranes and forklifts. Daily duties include setup, maintenance, material handling, and safety compliance.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and about 1 year of related experience; willingness to work second shift with a focus on quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent training.
• At least 12 months of related work experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings.

Responsibilities

• Layout, read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• Operate heavy steel fabrication machinery per requirements.
• Load/unload material with overhead crane or magnet.
• Perform daily preventative maintenance and troubleshoot.
• Mark, stamp and identify materials; keep machines clean.
• Locate parts and supplies; follow safety rules and PPE.
