Colonial Group is seeking a Grind Machinist for our Warsaw, IN location on a 3rd shift. You will set up and operate grinding machines to produce parts per blueprints and work instructions.

Based in Warsaw, IN, this role requires reading blueprints, using gauges for quality checks, and performing setups. The successful candidate will work with little supervision and be able to lift 40 lbs.

Qualifications

• Ability to read calipers, micrometers, height gauge and depth micrometers.
• Read and interpret blueprints and operation sheets.
• Understanding of G&M Codes.
• Strong understanding of computers.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with little direct supervision.
• Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs.
• Ability to stand and walk eight hours per day.
• Ability to work overtime (daily/weekly).
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.

The Grind Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of grinding machines to produce parts in accordance with blueprint specifications and work instructions.

This position will be based at our location in Warsaw, IN and assigned to a 3rd shift schedule.

What You’ll Do:

• Operates grinding equipment and runs production in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
• Performs setup for parts according to blueprints and guidelines.
• Uses inspection gauges such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges and comparator to perform quality checks on parts as outlined by AQL and work instructions.
• Corrects dimensional problems and approves setups by other operators.
• Maintains and ensures accurate counts on completed parts and scrapped parts; completes production paperwork and makes required entries into company database.
