Chicago Mold Engineering, a long-standing leader in plastic injection mold making, seeks skilled CNC machinists to advance our precision machining capabilities. Our shop features 5-axis machining centers, CAM programming, and a print-free environment where operators work with modern CAM/CAD tools.

The role involves setting up and programming CAM for 3- and 5-axis milling on Fanuc and Heidenhain controls, planning operation sequences, and mentoring others.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in CNC milling setups and operations.
• CAM programming experience required.
• ISO quality systems knowledge or certification beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program CAM, and run 3- and 5-axis milling centers on Fanuc/Heidenhain controls.
• Plan operation sequences to enable multitasking and on-time completion.
• Assist CNC operators and expand knowledge in mold building and machining.

Job Description

• Mange and when necessary, setup, program CAM and run 3 and 5-axis machining centers using Fanac and Heidenhain controls along with many others.
• Plan sequence of operations during projects to allow for multi-tasking and ensure on time completions
• Assist CNC operators
• Continue to apply oneself to growing a knowledge base and an understanding of mold building and machining

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 10 years work experience setup, programming and running CNC milling machines
• Minimum 10 years work experience in cutter feeds and speeds for milling, drilling and general machining
• CAM programming experience
• ISO certified quality systems.
