About the Company:
A leading manufacturer of precision CNC cutting tools is seeking a traveling Field Service Engineer to work remotely.
For over 40 years, this company has been a world-renowned producer of cutting machine tools, including top-of-the-line CNC machines and 5-axis systems. With national and international operations, they offer a stable and durable work environment, even during economic downturns.
The Job:
Provide on-site and telephone support for customers regarding maintenance, repair, and installation of CNC machine tools.
Create and update technical documentation.
Assist in product development by training end customers' Service Engineers on the installation and maintenance of new product lines.
Establish and maintain excellent communication and customer service relationships with clients. (Support from an in-house tech team ensures you have backup when needed.)
Details:
Field Service Engineers are paid hourly with opportunities for overtime, including travel time.
Expect to travel 75% of the time or more, so proximity to an airport is beneficial. Weekly travel is required.
All travel expenses are covered, and you're paid during travel. Weekend stays are compensated if it makes sense to stay over.
Use of personal vehicles is reimbursed. The company ensures excellent care and support for its team.
Credentials Desired:
Associate or bachelor's degree in a technical field, trade school certifications, or equivalent.
Experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance of CNC machine tools is preferred. Knowledge of metalworking, installation, repairs, and programming/operating CNC machines with 3, 5, or 7 axes is advantageous.
Experience with robotics (Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Haas, Mori Seiki, etc.), Siemens controls, or Heidenhain is a plus.
Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and sequence (PLC) ladder diagrams.
