Job summary

Hilton Tool, an Oregon-based manufacturer of precision machined components, seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance on CNC mills, lathes, 5-axis machines, Wire EDM, and other fabrication equipment. The role emphasizes diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control issues to minimize downtime.

The position requires strong troubleshooting, welding equipment handling, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of maintenance experience in a machine shop, fabrication, or manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on CNC mills, lathes, 5-axis machines, Wire EDM, surface grinders, band saws, and other fabrication equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control issues on CNC machines and related equipment.
• Repair and maintain welding equipment, including MIG and TIG systems.
• Maintain facility support systems including air compressors, coolant systems, dust collection systems, and overhead cranes/hoists.
• Perform general building maintenance including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, electrical systems, and safety equipment.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe shop, office, and exterior work areas.
• Coordinate waste disposal, scrap recycling, and hazardous material handling in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain maintenance records, equipment history, and spare parts inventory.
• Order maintenance parts, tools, and consumables while controlling costs.
• Assist with developing and improving preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform emergency repairs to minimize production downtime.
• Work closely with machine operators, programmers, and leadership to quickly resolve equipment issues.
• Participate in safety inspections and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide guidance to employees on proper equipment care and basic preventive maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
