Job summary

Bayliss Boatworks is seeking a CNC Designer/ Programmer/ Operator to join our Digital Design & Fabrication team. Create 3D CAD files based on input from supervisors and manage toolpaths for wood, composites, aluminum, and stainless steel using Rhino/MasterCAM.

You will program and operate C.R. Onsrud 3‑axis & 5‑axis routers, design assemblies, and collaborate with multiple departments to support yacht construction with precision and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years CAD/CAM and CNC machining experience.
• Proficiency in Rhino and MasterCAM (SolidWorks a plus).
• Experience working with wood, composites, aluminum, and stainless steel.
• Strong understanding of 3‑axis and 5‑axis toolpaths and operations.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D CAD files based on design input from supervisors and managers.
• Process and design assemblies using Rhino and/or SolidWorks.
• Program and operate CNC machines: C.R. Onsrud 3‑axis & 5‑axis routers to produce wood, composite, aluminum, and stainless‑steel parts.
• Develop efficient and creative toolpaths to optimize material usage and machine capabilities.
• Maintain CNC equipment and follow preventative maintenance schedules.
• Collaborate with design and other departments to meet project needs and timelines.
