Job summary

Automation Personnel Services in Memphis, TN is seeking a CNC Cutting & Drilling Trainee for a steel tube manufacturing facility. You will learn to operate CNC cutting and drilling equipment while developing machining, measurement, and manufacturing skills in a safety-focused environment.

Training under experienced operators includes machine setups, tool changes, program loading, blueprint reading, and quality inspections.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior CNC experience is helpful but not required.
• Manufacturing, production, fabrication, warehouse, or machine operation experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn machine controls.
• Ability to read or learn to read blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations.
• Experience using or learning precision measuring tools such as calipers and gauges.
• Strong attention to detail, quality, and workplace safety.
• Overhead crane, forklift, or material-handling experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Train under experienced operators to safely operate CNC cutting and drilling equipment.
• Assist with machine setups, tooling changes, and production changeovers.
• Learn how to load and run established CNC programs.
• Monitor machine operations and report equipment or tooling concerns.
• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work orders.
• Use measuring tools to verify dimensions and quality standards.
• Assist with quality inspections and identify production issues.
• Load, position, and unload steel materials for processing operations.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and assist with routine preventive maintenance.
• Follow all safety, PPE, material-handling, and machine-operating procedures.

CNC Cutting & Drilling Trainee

Automation Personnel Services is looking for a CNC Cutting & Drilling Trainee for a steel tube manufacturing facility in Memphis, TN. In this role, you will learn to operate CNC-controlled cutting and drilling equipment used to process steel materials while developing valuable machining, measurement, and manufacturing skills in a safety-focused production environment.

Pay Rate

$22.00 - $29.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Schedule and Hours

Monday through Friday

Available shifts:

• 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
• 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM

CNC Cutting & Drilling Trainee Duties and Responsibilities

• Train under experienced operators to safely operate CNC cutting and drilling equipment.
