Job summary

Austin Industrial seeks a CNC Mechanical Technician to repair, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC machine tools and related systems at our Tempe facility. You will ensure safe, reliable operation of 3-axis/5-axis mills, lathes, routers, and related equipment to minimize downtime.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree or technical certification in mechatronics or industrial maintenance, plus hands-on CNC experience. Strong problem-solving, blueprint reading, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

Experience maintaining and repairing CNC machine tools and industrial manufacturing equipment.
Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical blueprints, assembly drawings, and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics.
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment while managing multiple priorities.
Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

Perform routine, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on CNC machine tools, including 3-axis and 5-axis mills, CNC lathes, routers, and other precision machining equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical failures involving ball screws, linear rails, guideways, bearings, spindles, gearboxes, couplings, drive mechanisms, and other machine components.
Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including pumps, valves, actuators, regulators, cylinders, manifolds, and fluid delivery systems.
Inspect, align, level, and adjust machine components to maintain proper machine accuracy and performance.
Perform machine teardowns, rebuilds, retrofits, and component replacements as required.
Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, assembly drawings, technical manuals, and pneumatic/hydraulic schematics to support maintenance and repair activities.
Conduct equipment inspections and document maintenance activities, findings, and repair recommendations.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance personnel to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, company procedures, and industry standards.
Maintain tools, equipment, spare parts inventory, and a clean work environment.
