Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc in Aiken, SC is seeking a CNC Machine Maintenance Technician for a Mini Shift. The role begins with first-shift training and includes shift flexibility, overtime, and a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Training in Germany for 4–6 weeks is required.

You will troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical components, maintainKnoll coolant systems, MTM washing machines, and related equipment on-site in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance or completion of an apprenticeship with 5–7 years of machining maintenance experience.
• Advanced knowledge of HELLER CNC machines and Siemens 840D CNC control.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components, monitor machines and perform preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical components of CNC machines.
• Maintain Knoll cooling lubricant tanks and MTM washing machines, including cleaning and refilling.
• Monitor and maintain machining and facility equipment and fluids.
• Order bulk nitrogen as needed and repair transfer tanks.
• Document malfunctions and parts usage; coordinate training for junior technicians.
• Provide coaching to less senior technicians.

Job description

Job Title: CNC Machine Maintenance Technician - Mini Shift

Working Pattern: Full Time - Mini Shift starts at 5:45AM and ends at 6:15PM, Friday morning through Sunday morning. A shift premium will be added to the hourly rate. Additional hours/days worked are eligible for overtime pay. Initially training will occur on first shift from 6AM to 4:30PM, Monday through Thursday. You should have the flexibility to change shifts and occasionally be on call when production requires. You will need to attend training in Germany for 4-6 weeks.

Working Location: Aiken, SC

Relocation package will be provided if applicable.

What you will be doing:

• Monitor, troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical components of the machines.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and repair Knoll cooling lubricant tanks and MTM washing machines, including cleaning and refilling as necessary.
• Responsibilities also include monitoring and maintaining machining and facility equipment and associated fluids.
• Monitor and ordering of bulk Nitrogen.
• Monitor and repair transfer tanks.
• Documentation of malfunctions and the measures taken of used spare parts.
• Coordinate training and provide coaching to less senior technicians.

Basic Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance and 5 years of machining maintenance technician experience in a heavy-duty manufacturing environment; or completion of apprenticeship or training program and 7 years of machining maintenance technician experience in a heavy-duty manufacturing environment.
• Advanced knowledge of HELLER CNC machines.
• Advanced knowledge and experience with machine tool control CNC programming applications (Siemens 840D CNC)
• Advanced knowledge in a variety of machines and tools such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, taps or dies and hoists; including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Preferred Requirements:

• Knowledge of Rolls Royce Solutions products, policies, and procedures.
• Excellent knowledge of MTM parts washers, Knoll coolant systems, LTA filter system.
• Strong knowledge of Manual Machining Equipment.
• Strong knowledge of total productive maintenance principles (TPM).
