Job summary

MG McGrath, Inc. in Maplewood, MN, is seeking a CAD/CAM Programmer II to join our Virtual Design team. You will create CNC programs for 5-Axis, 3-Axis and laser cutting, optimize materials, and validate drawings and fabrication packages.

The ideal candidate has a 2-year degree in mechanical fields or equivalent CAM experience, proficiency in 2D CAD, and familiarity with GD&T and shop drawings. We offer health, vision, life insurance, 401(k) with match, paid holidays and PTO.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or Drafting with 3 years CAM experience, or 5 years CAM experience.
• Mastery of 2D CAD software and understanding of GD&T.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, Inventor or Navisworks.
• Ability to read and interpret Shop Drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write, and optimize programs for enterprise CNC machines.
• Interpret technical drawings and CAD models to create machining instructions.
• Select cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for various materials.
• Conduct trial runs and adjust to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Maintain program files, configurations and documentation.
