Job summary

Trident Maritime Systems in Newport News, VA seeks a CNC Burn Table Operator to set up and operate Messer CNC cutting machines to produce precise metal components. The role requires reading blueprints, accurate material selection, and strong attention to quality and safety.

You will nest work orders, manage plate inventory, and perform routine maintenance while coordinating with the Shop Foreman and Production Manager. Overtime may be required to meet production demands.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience operating CNC Messer burn table.
5+ years of manufacturing or shipyard safety experience.
Basic math skills.
Proficiency in reading blueprints.
Proficiency in using measuring tools such as dial calipers, OD and ID micrometers, bore gauges.

Responsibilities

Set up plasma and oxyfuel burn table and select materials for each work order.
Nest work orders for maximum production.
Manage plate inventory and maintain accurate counts.
Ensure quality production and proper operation of equipment.
Load and unload heavy metal plates using cranes or forklifts.
Adjust torch height, cutting speed, and related controls for plasma or oxy-fuel cutting.
Conduct daily/weekly/monthly maintenance and safety checks.
