Job summary

Metalcraft of Mayville, Inc. is seeking a Brake Press Operator to set up and run Cincinnati and Amada hydraulic CNC press brakes in a fast-paced shop. You will select tooling, install and align dies, read work orders and drawings, and verify parts with measuring tools to ensure quality.

The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and adherence to safety procedures. Responsibilities include operating CNC brake presses, maintaining setup documentation, and performing basic maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience with brake presses or metal forming is preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and production specifications.
• Basic shop math and measurement skills required.
• Experience with dimensional measuring and precision tools is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete work accurately and efficiently.
• Willingness to operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely.
• Experience with Cincinnati and Amada CNC press brakes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Cincinnati and Amada hydraulic CNC press brakes.
• Select the correct tooling for each job using setup docs or supervision.
• Install, align, and set up punches, dies, and other tooling.
• Read and interpret work orders, schedules, blueprints, and drawings to determine specs.
• Position and secure workpieces using fixtures and stops.
• Adjust machine settings to meet specifications and production needs.
• Plan forming sequences based on job requirements and material characteristics.
• Use gauges and measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure tolerance.
• Perform operator-level preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Identify and troubleshoot basic manufacturing or quality issues and seek assistance when needed.
• Safely operate forklifts, hoists, and overhead cranes to move materials.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all safety procedures and perform other duties as assigned.
