Job summary

REV-O, a maker of emergency-vehicle components, seeks a CNC Press Brake Operator to run CNC press brakes and form parts per specifications. You will perform basic programming, setup non-complex bends, read shop drawings, and maintain quality and safety standards in a fast-paced plant environment.

Job Summary

The CNC Press Brake Operator is responsible for operating computer‑controlled press brake machines to produce formed parts according to specifications. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards. The operator will also perform basic programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks while ensuring a clean and organized work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC press brake machines to form parts per production requirements.
  • Program and input correct settings to produce accurate parts in required quantities.
  • Perform basic setups for non‑complex bends.
  • Use control language and computer functions to set up, operate, and adjust (offset) the press brake.
  • Run production lots, monitor machine operation, and detect malfunctions such as worn or damaged tools.
  • Assist in training CNC operators on proper equipment operation.
  • Interface with engineering to program machine setups and ensure efficient operations.
  • Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and production paperwork.
  • Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, protractors, and tape measures to verify part conformity.
  • Monitor calibration of equipment within the department.
  • Review finished parts for compliance with workmanship and quality standards.
  • Complete quality and timekeeping records, including In‑Process and Final Audit Reports.
  • Determine if supplied materials meet production requirements.
  • Load work order files into the CNC system as needed.
  • Properly fill out identification tags for parts produced to ensure traceability.
  • Follow all safety policies and wear required PPE (safety glasses, earplugs, safety shoes, gloves).
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area in compliance with facility housekeeping policies (6S Standards).
  • Understand and operate all required protective safety equipment.
  • Ensure hazardous waste is handled appropriately and placed into the proper container(s).
  • Know spill response procedures and evacuation routes.
  • Receive on‑the‑job training from the cell supervisor.
  • Stay current on Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and perform basic mechanical adjustments as needed.
  • Understand and support the company’s Quality Policy and Quality Objectives.
  • Understand OSHA and EPA standards and undergo hazardous materials handling training.
Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Other physical requirements include:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle tools or controls.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs. without assistance.
  • Ability to work in squatting, kneeling, bending, and overhead positions.
  • Capable of working from step stools and standing at a workstation for up to 10 hours per day.
  • Able to work in hot (up to 105°F), noisy, and dusty environments.
  • Requires close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is elevated.
