Job summary

Carle Health Pekin Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support nursing staff by performing patient care activities and clerical tasks. You will assist with hygiene, nutrition, elimination, and skin care, while helping with admissions, discharges and daily rounds to ensure patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include documenting care, measuring vital signs, and coordinating with nurses to respond to call lights promptly.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential.
• CNA coursework within past 24 months.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Performs Patient Care Activities as delegated by the Nurse.
• Provides hygiene needs of assigned patients (AM/PM care, oral hygiene, denture care).
• Provides nutritional needs of assigned patients (tray distribution, feeding, supplements).
• Provides elimination needs of assigned patient (bowel/bladder care; records output).
• Provides skin care of assigned patients (turning, positioning, preventing skin breakdown).
• Completes admitted processes including vital signs and room setup.
• Maintains neat and safe patient environment.
• Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge of patient.
