Job summary

Mecklenburg Health and Rehabilitation in Charlotte, NC is seeking an outstanding Transportation Driver who must also be a CNA. You will transport residents to appointments using the facility's branded van, interacting with elderly and disabled residents with empathy and professionalism.

The role requires punctuality, safety awareness, and excellent customer service as you support care teams and families during treatment schedules.

Qualifications

• Current valid driver's license with no serious infractions.
• Must pass drug screen and criminal background check.
• CNA certification is required. Experience in customer service, transportation and healthcare are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients by assisting patients in and out of vans/vehicles; lifting patients on and off beds; moving them to and from special service and treatment areas, using wheelchairs or moveable beds.
• Communicates with outside entities with excellent customer service.
• Comforts patients and their families by offering support and encouragement; being punctual and attentive to procedure schedules; demonstrating caring and sensitivity.
• Transports equipment and supplies by picking up requisitioned orders; delivering them to assigned treatment areas and patient care areas.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with federal and state legal regulations.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
