Job summary

Asante is seeking a CNA Surgery Aide to maintain a clean, safe surgical environment under RN supervision. Responsibilities include OR turnover, cleaning, stocking, and transport within the facility.

You will transport patients to the OR, ensure proper body mechanics and patient positioning, respond to emergencies, and verify patient identity with armband checks before transport.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Team environment experience required.
• Surgery or orderly aide experience preferred.

SalaryRange:$20.50 - $28.19

Shift Differentials:

• $1.21 extra for working between 3:00pm - 11:00pm
• $2.05 extra for working between 11:01pm and 7:00am
• $1.05 extra for working weekends

Position Summary

The CNASurgery Aideeffectively maintains a clean, healthy, and safe as possible environment in the surgical setting for all patients and employees, using appropriate asepsis techniques. Working under the supervision of the RNs in the unit, responsibilities include OR suite turnover and cleaning, stocking, and transport (based on facility).

As a CNA Surgery Aide you will have the opportunity to:

• Transport patients safely to and from the Operating Room (OR)
• Demonstrate proper body mechanics and safe patient positioning and moving
• Respond to emergencies within the department and obtain necessary equipment
• Identify yourself to the patient and identify the patient by checking the patient armband prior to transport

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate as needed for the position is required
• Previous experience within a team environment required
• Surgery or orderly aide experience preferred

Certifications/Licenses

• Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified by the American Heart Association (AHA) required upon start
• CNA or equivalent licensure (such as EMT) required upon start
• CSCT (Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician) preferred

Working Environment/Physical Requirements

• This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis - such as transferring a patient in and out of a bed. The ability to bend, stretch, twist and perform other awkward physical movements is also required.
