Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care. Provides resident-centered nursing care and assistance with daily living activities under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Must follow infection prevention policies and PPE use. Assists with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, vital signs, psychosocial support, transfers, range of motion exercises, and helps with meals. Documents resident interactions and communicates changes to the charge nurse. May collect specimens and provide housekeeping and recreational support. Participates in departmental committees as needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred; minimum age 16. Prior clinical or CNA experience preferred. Must have CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing or be enrolled in a training program within four months. Must complete yearly competency testing and continuing education. May require a valid driver’s license and medical qualification for driving responsibilities.
