Job summary

FirstLight Home Care seeks a dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / State Registered Nurse Aide (SRNA) to serve as a Caregiver Training Specialist. This office-based role runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and trains caregivers in hands-on client-care tasks.

The primary goal is to ensure caregivers are prepared to provide safe, compassionate care while maintaining client dignity and privacy.

Qualifications

• Current CNA/SRNA certification in good standing.
• Previous direct client or patient care experience.
• Strong caregiving and client-safety practices.
• Ability to demonstrate caregiving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, encouraging, and professional teaching approach.
• Identify mistakes or knowledge gaps and provide corrective instruction.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating with office and supervisory staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on training to new and existing caregivers on essential client-care responsibilities.
• Demonstrate proper techniques for assisting clients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Train caregivers on safe and appropriate client-care practices including mobility, transfers, hygiene, meals, and other tasks.
• Observe caregivers performing hands-on skills and provide constructive feedback.
• Ensure caregivers demonstrate competency before independently performing duties.
• Maintain documentation of training, competency demonstrations, and education completed.
• Communicate caregiver training concerns or performance issues to management.
• Assist with ongoing caregiver education and skills refreshers.
