Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a certified nursing assistant to provide patient care across units, respond to calls promptly, and document care per standards. The role involves float staffing, participation in improvement activities, training new partners, and monitoring patients with basic bedside tasks.

Qualifications

• Completion of a CNA program.
• Current CNA certificate in applicable state.
• Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care as assigned and per routine as defined by educational scope, according to standards of care, shift routines, and policies and procedures.
• Answers call lights in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Documents care provided according to standards.
• Maintains a clean work and patient environment.
• Floats to various units based on identified patient care needs.
• Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities.
• Training/precepting new partners in collaboration with unit educator.
• Blood Glucose Monitoring (BGM) with lab personnel.
• Indwelling catheters, bladder scans, and other devices care and output measures.
