Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living at Haddam, Connecticut will award 3 full Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) training scholarships from our first 20 qualified applicants. After certification, recipients are guaranteed a Resident Care Associate (RCA) role with a one-year employment commitment.

Your Scholarship Includes: 100% Free CNA Training; a Guaranteed Job with a starting rate of $21.00/hour and possible shift differentials; CPR and First Aid certifications provided as part of training.

Qualifications

• Experience: Prior private duty caregiving or home health experience is desired.
• Resident-focused care: Ability to meet residents’ physical and emotional needs.
• Physical ability: Lift, stoop, carry 50–75 pounds and be active throughout the workday.
• Flexible availability: Weekend shifts may be required.
• One-year commitment: Work full-time for Commonwealth Senior Living for at least one year after certification or reimburse the training cost.
• Availability: Open to work any shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care: assist daily tasks, mobility, lifts, transfers and routine care rounds while protecting dignity and safety.
• Promote well-being: deliver care to maintain skin integrity and prevent ulcers.
• Document and protect: record care accurately using standard computer equipment and follow infection-control procedures.
• Create connection: offer respectful physical, emotional, and psychosocial support to residents and families in a homelike environment.

What You’ll Need:

• Flexible availability: Available to work weekends as needed to support continuous resident care.
• One-year commitment: Agree to work full-time for Commonwealth Senior Living for at least one year after certification or reimburse the company for the training cost.
• Availability: Open to work any shifts.
