Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Colorado Springs is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision. You will work within a patient-centered team to deliver compassionate care, follow policies, and support clinical staff during day shifts.

The role requires practicing at the top of your license, a CNA license, and CNA program completion, with a preference for 6 months of CNA or healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a Nursing Assistant Program.
• State Registered CNA license required.
• Six (6) months CNA or healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality patient care, including comfort and hygiene, skin care, safety, transport, and nutrition/elimination.
• Promptly answers call lights and reports patient status changes to the Registered Nurse.
• Documents vital signs, input/output, nutrition, personal hygiene, weights, and other patient care; maintains patient charts.
• Assists with delegated patient care tasks under direct supervision of a nurse.
• Delivers person-centered care with compassion in collaboration with the care team.
• Communicates hazards or errors related to patient care to the health care team.

• Provides quality patient care, including comfort and hygiene measures, preventative skin care, safety measures, transport, and nutritional and elimination needs.
• Promptly answers call lights and responds to patient needs. Reports patient status changes and needs to Registered Nurse accurately and in a timely manner.
• Accurately documents vital signs, input/output, nutritional intake, personal hygiene, weights, and other patient care performed and reports findings promptly to Registered Nurse; maintains thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records.
• Assists with safe and appropriate delegated patient care tasks which are directly supervised by the nurse.
• Provides person-centered care with sensitivity and respect for the human experience in a collaborative fashion with other team members.
• Communicates concerns regarding hazards or errors related to patients to the health care team.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Diploma/G.E.D.
• Graduate of a Nursing Assistant Program
• State registered CNA license
