Job summary

Penrose-St. Francis Health Services in Colorado Springs is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide direct and indirect nursing care under RN supervision, in a patient-centered environment.

This full-time night shift role emphasizes compassionate care, adherence to policies, documentation, and teamwork, with a focus on vital signs, hygiene, mobility and comfort, and timely communication with the nursing staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a Nursing Assistant Program.
• State registered CNA license required.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality patient care, including comfort and hygiene measures, preventative skin care, safety measures, transport, and nutritional and elimination needs.
• Promptly answers call lights and responds to patient needs. Reports patient status changes and needs to Registered Nurse accurately and in a timely manner.
• Accurately documents vital signs, input/output, nutritional intake, personal hygiene, weights, and other patient care performed and reports findings promptly to Registered Nurse; maintains thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records.
• Assists with safe and appropriate delegated patient care tasks which are directly supervised by the nurse.
• Provides person-centered care with sensitivity and respect for the human experience in a collaborative fashion with other team members.
• Communicates concerns regarding hazards or errors related to patients to the health care team.
