Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque/Dyersville Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Assistant (NA) for a part-time, weekend/PRN role. The NA provides holistic, compassionate patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse and assists with activities of daily living, aligning with MercyOne's mission and standards.

Shifts are 12 hours with every third weekend rotation. Applicants must be at least 16 (18 in some areas), active on an Iowa registry or other state registry, and able to show proof of a 75-hour CNA

Qualifications

• Active on Iowa registry (required for long-term care CNAs); other state registries may apply.
• Provide proof of 75-hour CNA course.
• Provide EMT Certification.
• Provide proof of military medical training.

Part time Shift: Weekend Shift Description: Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Nurse Assistant!

As a Nurse Assistant at MercyOne, the Nurse Assistant (NA) is a member of the MercyOne Dubuque/Dyersville Medical Center healthcare team and is under the direct supervision of a registered professional nurse. NAs provide holistic, compassionate, individualized, and effective patient care by assisting the patient with activities of daily living. Nurse Assistant (NA) also provide other physical, emotional, and spiritual needs consistent with the Mission of MercyOne, Vision of Patient Care Services, evidence-based standards of care, and established policies and procedures.

Schedule:

• PRN (Per Diem), 0.0 FTE


• 12-hour shifts


• Required every third weekend rotation

General Requirements:

All Nurse Assistants (other than Senior Care):

• Must be at least 16 years of age, Child labor laws are applicable to all minors under the age of 18. May be required to be 18 years of age in some area.


• Must meet at least one of the following requirements: Be active on the Iowa registry (required for long term care nurse assistants in Iowa, and nurse assistants who work in Illinois or Wisconsin are required to be on their respective state's registry)


• Show proof of completion of 75-hour CNA course


• Show proof of EMT Certification


• Show proof of formally holding (and completed training for) a medical occupation specialty from the military (current or former)

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.

Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) will be required within 30 days of hire and every 2 years thereafter.
