Job summary

The Central Texas Rehabilitation Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) to support basic patient care under nursing supervision. This PRN position offers 12-hour shifts and opportunities to contribute to patient comfort and daily living activities.

Required: high school diploma or equivalent, CNA training, state CNA certification, and CPR/BCLS. Six months of acute or long-term care experience preferred; benefits and career growth available.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a nursing assistant training course.
• Experience: Minimum six months in an acute or long-term care setting preferred.
• Licenses: Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant.
• Certifications: CPR/BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care tasks including bathing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
• Provide general nursing support such as positioning, lifting, turning, and using special equipment.
• Assist with toileting needs using bedpans, urinals, commodes, or ambulation to the bathroom.
• Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure, and intake/output measurements accurately and document promptly.
• Prepare patient rooms for admission and transfer, ensuring cleanliness and equipment readiness.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment with attention to ventilation and lighting.
• Support patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, including handling of patient belongings.
• Answer patient call lights, phones, and pages, responding promptly and appropriately.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
