Job summary

Friends School of Baltimore seeks a caring, flexible Pre-Primary Support Associate to provide daily support across our Pre-Primary program. This role moves throughout the program, helping ensure a smooth, joyful learning environment for our youngest students.

The ideal candidate is observant, adaptable, and able to anticipate classroom needs, with CNA certification and ability to respond to student health needs in collaboration with the School Nurse and administrators.

Qualifications

• Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Experience working with young children, preferably in an early childhood setting.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teachers and classrooms.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Patience, warmth, flexibility, and a genuine love of working with young children.
• Ability to anticipate needs, take initiative, and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide flexible support across Pre-Primary classrooms as needed.
• Assist teachers with classroom activities, transitions, and routines.
• Support individual students or small groups during learning experiences.
• Help maintain a calm, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
• Observe classroom dynamics and proactively offer assistance.
• Assist with materials preparation, classroom setup, and cleanup.
• Provide daily lunch coverage and supervise lunch periods.
• Foster a warm, nurturing environment for all children.
