Job summary

Wingate Residences at Melbourne Place in Massachusetts is seeking dedicated caregivers to provide personal care to residents according to written service plans.

The role supports daily living activities, hygiene, meals, safety, mobility, and engagement, with flexible Full Time, Part Time and Per Diem shifts.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma and current CNA or Home Health Aide certification; one year elder-care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review shift logbook and assignments at the start of each shift.
• Assist residents with hygiene, dressing, and personal care.
• Ensure residents are neat, clean, and properly clothed; assist with bathroom needs.
• Proactively assess safety concerns in apartments and common areas and report as needed.
• Transport residents to activities and dining; assist with meals and table setup.
• Provide individual support to engage residents in activities and to calm as needed.
• Maintain excellent customer service in all interactions and promote person-centered care.

Education

Job Purpose

Provides personal care to residents according to written service plans.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Review the logbook and assignment sheets for updates at the start of each shift.
• Assure that residents are neat, clean, and properly clothed. Assist with bathroom and hygiene needs.
• Tidy apartment proactively assesses potential safety concerns.
• Proactively assess potential safety concerns in common areas of the building and report to appropriate parties when needed.
• Transports residents to and from activities and dining.
• Provides SAMM assistance within the allotted time frame (if applicable)
• Accurate documents are provided, including SAMM timely (if applicable)
• Give a verbal report of shift change to the following shift.
• Mealtime duties include making morning coffee and serving breakfast as residents are ready. Serve lunch and dinner. Assist with setting tables. Encourage residents to take part in mealtimes. Assist residents with plate and utensil orientation. Clean up, load, and empty dishwasher, clean and disinfect tables and counters. Launder napkins and dish towels.
• Provide one-on-one support when needed to engage residents in activities or provide a quiet space to calm residents when required. Facilitates and assists with activity programming.
• Applies an excellent customer service approach in all aspects of the job.
• Committed to working with residents and families to develop and implement strategies that promote person-centered care.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Certification as a CNA or Home Health Aide in the state of work.
• One year's experience in an elder care setting preferred.
