Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation in Jackson, MS is seeking a Nursing Support/ CNA professional to perform patient care tasks under the supervision of licensed nurses within the Medical Surgical Unit. The role focuses on direct patient care, basic tasks, patient safety, and effective communication with the care team.

Minimum one year of recent experience and a high school diploma or equivalent are required.

Formación

• 1 year recent (within past 6 months) experience.
• CNA Program/Certification or AEMT/Paramedic Licensure/Certification or MA Program/Certification; BLS Certification within 14 DAYS OF HIRE.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Responsabilidades

• Communicates and collaborates with the professional registered nurse.
• Performs patient care tasks under the direction of the RN including vital signs, blood glucose testing, phlebotomy, electrode placement, venous compression devices.
• Performs basic patient care services under the direction of the RN including height & actual weights, intake & output, retrieval of equipment & supplies, stocks patient rooms.
• Maintains a conducive environment for the patient including clutter free rooms, removing linen/trash from rooms, quiet surroundings.
• Supports patient/family communication needs including answering call lights, orienting new patients to the room, assisting with discharge appointments.
• Promotes safety including assisting with patient mobility, safety rounds/4Ps.
• Promotes comfort including providing water, ice, cups, pillows, blankets, assistance with meals.
• Transports non-monitored patients.
• Assists RN with monitored and/or intubated transports.
• Performs other duties as assigned
