Gibson Area Hospital & Health Services in Gibson City, IL seeks a CNA/CMA to perform both administrative and clinical duties, obtain patient data, and conduct CLIA waived lab testing and equipment testing necessary for visits.

The role requires BLS certification, familiarity with CPT/ICD codes, computer skills, and adherence to CMS/IDPH regulations under supervision of a physician, NP, or PA.

• Must be competent by designee for medical equipment testing and oriented by RN/LPN.
• Current BLS certification or will achieve within six months of hire.
• Familiar with CPT and ICD codes; knowledge of medical terminology.

HOURS & SHIFT REQUIREMENTS: Full time. 40 hours per week. Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm.CNA pay range $17 - $22.CMA pay range $20 - $28.JOB DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS: The CNA/CMA is a non-professional staff member who performs duties, both administrative and clinical, obtains clinical information/data, performs clinical CLIA waived lab testing, and testing on medical equipment, necessary for the medical office visit. Communicates effectively with patients/family. The responsibility for direct oversight is that of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner, and/or Physician Assistant, for which the CNA/CMA is working.EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED1. Must be competencied by designee for all medical equipment testing and oriented by RN/LPN according to any and all job skills required to perform said duties, in the clinic environment.2. Current BLS certification or will achieve within six months of hire.3. Must be able to follow directions and have a working knowledge of computer applications.4. If a CNA, maintains current licensure and meets any and all regulations required of CMS and IDPH.5. Must be familiar with CPT and ICD codes, either through education or experience as demonstrated by past performance.6. Knowledge of medical terminology and the insurance industry.7. Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type correspondence.INFECTION EXPOSURE RISK LEVELCategory 1 – Maximal Risk – this job exposes you to potential blood, body fluids and tissues on a routine basis.
