Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants for the Heart & Vascular Unit (HVU). The unit handles cardiovascular patients, including LVADs, in a fast-paced environment requiring teamwork and clinical growth. Night shifts are available, with full-time and part-time options to support scheduling needs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old for CNA; 18 for Nursing Assistant.
• Certified Nursing Assistant certification in Nebraska required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire required (AHA endorsed).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work nights.

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated patient activities as assigned by licensed nursing personnel for patient care.
• Assist with care plans and patient safety, under supervision of nursing staff.

It is considered a specialty medical/surgical unit that is fast paced and will provide growth in professional knowledge and expertise in the care delivery of our cardiovascular patients. The staff will care for specialty patients such as stable heart and lung transplants and Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs).
