Job summary

South Richmond Adult Day Care is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join our dedicated team in Richmond, VA. This role focuses on person-centered day-time care for adults, with a supportive, team-oriented environment.

You will assist participants with ADLs, monitor health, support meals, and engage in therapeutic activities while collaborating with nursing staff and families to promote dignity and independence.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia CNA certification in good standing.
• Experience in adult/geriatric care preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assist with transfers and mobility.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ADLs including personal hygiene, grooming, and mobility.
• Monitor vital signs and health status; note changes.
• Support meals, snacks, and hydration.
• Facilitate therapeutic and recreational activities.
• Communicate with nursing staff, caregivers, and families.

Responsibilities:

• Assist participants with activities of daily living (ADLs) including personal hygiene, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs, health status, and any changes in participant condition
• Support participants during meals, snacks, and hydration throughout the day
• Assist with therapeutic and recreational activities in a group day program setting
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff, caregivers, and family members regarding participant needs
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all participants
• Provide emotional support and companionship to promote participant well-being

Requirements:

• Active Virginia CNA certification in good standing
• Prior experience in adult care, geriatric care, or a day program setting preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to working with adults
• Ability to assist with transfers, ambulation, and physical care tasks
• Reliable, punctual, and a committed team player
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
